Khushi's Dunfermline

Tucked into the heart of Dunfermline at 1 Canmore Street, Khushi's Dunfermline is the kind of Indian restaurant that wins you over from the moment you step inside. The scent of spices drifting from the kitchen alone is enough to set expectations sky high, and, trust me, they deliver. Whether you're craving something mild and creamy or fiery and full-bodied, this spot is a flavorful gem for curry lovers across Fife.

One thing that instantly grabs attention here is the wide variety of classic and modern Indian dishes. The Chicken Biryani is rich, aromatic, and perfectly layered, while the Vindaloo brings that serious heat for spice thrill-seekers. Not into too much fire? The Mango Chicken Tikka has a beautifully balanced sweetness, offering a fruity counterpoint to the savory grilled chicken. And if you’re more into grazing and sharing, the Thali platters and Carnegie Platter are loaded with crowd-pleasers-ideal for groups or indecisive eaters like me.

Vegetarians are definitely not left behind either. From Vegetable Pakora to Dohra Seek Kebab, the menu offers plenty of vibrant, flavorful options without compromising on spice or satisfaction. The Chicken Tikka and Veg Platter Starters make for a mouthwatering kickoff to any meal, combining sizzling grilled meat and perfectly spiced veggies.

Khushi's isn’t just about big bold flavors-it’s also about creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. The restaurant is wheelchair-accessible, both in terms of entrance and seating, which is a big plus for inclusivity. The dining space is cozy but never cramped, with just the right kind of ambiance for a casual lunch or an evening get-together. Whether you’re popping in for a quick meal or planning a celebratory dinner, the setup works.

Now, let’s talk desserts because this place doesn’t cut corners when it comes to the sweet stuff. The Pavlova, Mango Kulfi, and Black Forest Gateau are all worth saving room for, but it's the Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake that truly shine. Rich, indulgent, and perfect with a hot Espresso, they’re the ultimate finishers to a hearty Indian meal. If you’re after something chilled and refreshing, the Falooda and Gelato hit the mark, especially during warm afternoons or after a particularly spicy main.

Khushi's also makes it easy for everyone to enjoy their food no matter how you prefer to dine. They offer no-contact delivery, takeaway, and of course, dine-in service, which means you can enjoy your favorites from home or in the restaurant itself. For late-night cravings, they’ve got that covered too-serving late-night food is a rare gem in the area.

And yes, they’ve thought about the small touches. They serve free water refills (a simple gesture that many overlook), offer coffee, and even cater for events. That’s right-if you're planning a gathering or need catering that’s guaranteed to impress, Khushi's has the experience and flavor credentials to back it up.

The overall vibe is casual, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Add to that a menu with plenty of vegetarian options, small plates, and a consistently praised fantastic service, and you've got a spot that makes you want to return. Whether you're ordering a round of juices for the table or enjoying a quiet dinner for two, this place effortlessly blends tradition with comfort.

Great food - salmon tikka superb. BYOB with no corkage. One star off as service was a little hurried initially, then slowed to the other extreme, but will certainly return.

Lovely dinner last night. Food was absolutely delicious, especially the tandoori starter platter and naan bread. Service was excellent. Highly recommend

Had the tapas o Lunch, gave a good mix of different meals, rather than going all in on just one dish. Lassis (a drink) was lovely, as well os the food. Staff were kind and always nearby if needed.

Every time is totally worth it, the food is awesome and they have this "tapas" option and it's awesome because you get to try several options in small portions, but don't be fooled, a 2 dish option is more than enough for me, I wish I could eat more, to be honest. The staff very welcoming, the place is lovely. Coffee is amazing!

An amazing authentic restaurant nestled in a beautiful spot near Edinburgh. Plenty of parking spots are nearby which specially helps after the meal! The daals and sabzis (veggies) taste authentic and well made with good quantity servings. The biryani was tasty, well made and served and nearly as authentic as the Hyderabadi Biryani which I've had in Hyderabad. It's the closest I've ever had in the UK so kudos to the team. The innovative mango lassi and the chutneys are made in house creatively using everyday stuff. And after the meal it's custom to have Indian tea and I would recommend it thoroughly. All in all a very authentic restaurant with a good customer service and brilliant serving.
